We recently sat down with Ryan King who joined the Stride Capital team as a Sales Coordinator last month. He spoke with us about his previous experience, what he’s looking forward to in his new role, and more. Keep reading to get to know Ryan better.

Tell us about your previous work experience and education and how it led you to Stride.

In 2024, I received a bachelor’s degree in commerce, with a major in economics, from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I previously worked at SAIT as a Sales Coordinator, aiding the Sales Manager to reach summer sales targets. Using this experience, I made the move to Stride to gain more knowledge in the finance/financial services industry.

What are you looking forward to about your new role as Sales Coordinator for Stride?

I’m looking forward to building knowledge and gaining experience in a new industry.

What opportunities do you see as part of Stride and within this new role?

I see many paths for growth in credit or documentation within the next few years.

Can you tell us a bit about your experience working in a team environment, managing client relationships, and doing financial analysis? How will this experience help you excel in your role?

In my previous role, I managed a small team of administrative assistants during our busy summer season. I helped keep operations running smoothly as a point of support for those under me. I also had the opportunity to build a rapport with clients. Although I was not the main contact for clients, when my supervisor was absent, I was the secondary point of contact and handled situations and client relations accordingly. I was also responsible for doing our seasonal reporting, outlining our sales data and revenue, as well as the year-over-year growth. I believe in a larger team like the one at Stride, this previous experience will prove to be beneficial in my performance and ability to work with colleagues and clients alike.

What is your life like outside of work? 

Outside of work, I enjoy working out at the gym, the outdoors, reading books, and spending time with my girlfriend.
