Welcome to the team, James Bailey! James recently joined the Stride Capital team as our Asset Manager – Equipment Recovery & Remarketing. Utilizing his mechanical expertise and industry know-how, James will oversee heavy equipment from retrieval to resale, deciding the best path forward for each piece of equipment. We sat down with James to discuss his previous work experience, what he’s looking forward to in the new role, and more.
Tell us about your previous work experience and finance education. How did it lead you to Stride?
I have a very diverse work history. I was raised as the son of a mechanic and gained a world of knowledge from that to aid me in my future endeavors. (Thanks Dad!) I have been around heavy equipment all of my life, from road construction, to oilfield, to building construction, to trucking, and the equipment rental industry. When I saw the posting at Stride Capital, I knew that I had found the perfect next step for the culmination of all my experiences.
What are you looking forward to about your new role at Stride?
What I am most looking forward to with Stride is streamlining the asset remarketing process by creating an easy-to-follow, step-by-step flow. I want to serve our customers and coworkers in a manner that makes the whole process more efficient.
I look forward to the opportunity to support each and every department as much as they have been a support to me so far.
What sectors do you specialize in?
I would say that my main specialty would be in the construction equipment areas. This would widely range from generators to wheel loaders, excavators, compaction, and beyond. I also have a strong knowledge of oilfield operations and building construction. These industries have many commonalities.
What is your life outside of work like?
Outside of work, I like keeping busy with custom woodwork, motorcycling, and enjoying time with my family.
