Congratulations on your recent promotion to an Inside Sales Account Manager! What are you looking forward to about your new role?
Thank you! I’m really excited about the jump to Account Manager!
I’m looking forward to learning more about the sales side of the business and working more hands-on with brokers and clients. I started at Stride Capital right after university as a Sales Coordinator, where I helped with credit packages, documentation requests, and supporting deals through to funding. That opportunity really helped me understand the finance industry and how the deal flow works, from initial submission to funding.
The broker desk will definitely come with new challenges, hurdles, and longer hours, but I’m excited for the opportunity to grow professionally and continue learning the sales side.
Can you tell us about your experience leading up to your promotion, both with Stride and before?
I started at Stride right after graduating in December 2023 and it was my first role in the finance industry. Throughout my first two years as a Sales Coordinator, I got to learn how deals move, from initial submission all the way through to funding.
Before that, I worked in sales while I was in school. I worked as a TELUS Business Account Manager and also did door-to-door sales.
At Stride, I’ve been lucky to learn from a lot of experienced industry veterans to gain a strong understanding of the leasing and credit side of things. I’m excited to build on that foundation in this next chapter.
What interested you in working in the finance industry initially?
Throughout my degree at the University of Lethbridge, I was interested in learning more about the finance industry. That interest was also influenced by my parents, as both worked in banking and finance. Growing up around the industry sparked my curiosity early on.
I found heavy equipment finance especially interesting because it’s niche, but a crucial part of the overall finance industry, supporting whole sectors like energy, transportation, construction, and more.
As one of the leaders in heavy equipment finance, Stride Capital has given me the opportunity to learn a lot, and I’m grateful to be a part of such a great team.
What do you like most about working at Stride Capital? What valuable lessons have you learned throughout your time here?
Working at Stride Capital has been incredibly rewarding. Everyone has been very supportive, and as cliché as it may sound, it truly feels like a family. Throughout my time here, I’ve had the chance to learn from different departments, gaining an understanding of how to maintain turnaround times and processes.
Working on a high-volume, fast-paced broker desk has helped me with time management, prioritization, communication, and problem solving without overthinking.
Everyone at Stride is very welcoming, and the industry experts across different departments are always willing to help and share their knowledge.
What is your life outside of work like?
Outside of work, I like to stay active. I enjoy spending time with friends, getting out around the city, going for runs, and playing sports.
