This week, we’re excited to be celebrating Garrett Beuk’s 6-year anniversary with Stride Capital. Garrett—our Senior Credit Analyst—is a key part of our team, utilizing his 10+ years of industry experience and 6 years working directly with Stride Capital clients to provide top quality service. We had a chance to sit down with Garrett to discuss how his role has evolved throughout his time here, the most valuable lesson he’s learned, and his favourite memory from the last 6 years.
How has your role evolved over the past 6 years, and what have your growth and Stride Capital’s growth looked like during this time?
My role has evolved to include more interdepartmental co-operation and coaching as our team has continued to grow over the years. My growth seems to coincide with Stride’s growth—as the company has grown, so has my responsibility within the company which I’ve come to embrace.
What’s one of your favorite memories from your time with Stride so far?
My favorite memories from my time here at Stride are our company stampede BBQ’s, Christmas parties, and team building events. It’s always a good time catching up with colleagues and having some laughs. The people are what make Stride and the memories so good!
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned during your time here?
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned here at Stride is patience. Good things can’t be rushed, and Stride’s growth hitting an all-time high after 9 years is a perfect example of this.
What do you enjoy most about working with your team and contributing to Stride Capital’s mission?
I enjoy the lively office culture we have at Stride which makes coming to work enjoyable each day. We have fun (while still working hard, of course) and I think that’s special to have in any company. I like that each staff member provides their own unique perspective and view on things that helps Stride become more diverse in our thinking and approach to problems.
How do you stay motivated and inspired after 6 years, and what excites you about the future with the company?
I stay motivated by the uniqueness of each deal I look at; no two deals are the same and I’m always excited to see what different transaction I’m going to tackle next. The continued growth of the company is what excites me about Stride. We’ve grown from a small private operation to a strong competitor in the industry which I’m proud to be a part of and it excites me to see what’s going to happen next here at Stride.
