Audrey Yuen, who has been with Stride for over three and a half years in different roles, was recently promoted to Associate Accountant. Initially joining our team during an internship as a Sales Coordinator, Audrey then came on full-time and naturally progressed into this new role. We sat down with Audrey to discuss her time with Stride, what she’s looking forward to in her new role, and more.

Congratulations on your recent promotion to Associate Accountant! What are you looking forward to about your new role? 

Thank you! In my previous role as a Sales Coordinator with Stride, I gained a strong understanding of our operations and the industry. Stepping into a new role within the company is something I’m genuinely excited about because it gives me the chance to see a different side of our organization and continue growing professionally.

I’m looking forward to applying the knowledge I’ve built about Stride and the industry while expanding my skill set in accounting. I’m eager to learn, contribute, and bring a fresh perspective to the team. This role feels like a natural next step, and I’m excited for the opportunity to grow and make an even greater impact.

Can you tell us about your experience leading up to your promotion, both with Stride and before? 

Leading up to my promotion, I spent two years with Stride and had the opportunity to serve as the company’s first Sales Coordinator. In that role, I gained extensive knowledge of our processes, systems, and day‑to‑day operations, which helped me build a strong foundation and a deep understanding of how Stride functions.

Before joining Stride, I worked in the hospitality and retail industries, where I developed strong customer service skills and learned how to communicate effectively, stay organized, and adapt quickly in fast‑paced environments. Those experiences, combined with my time as a Sales Coordinator, have shaped me into someone who is resourceful, detail‑oriented, and ready to take on greater responsibility.

What interested you in working in the financial industry initially?

I was pursuing a business degree, influenced in part by both of my parents who are accountants and inspired me to follow a similar path. During my studies, I joined the Mount Royal University Co‑op Program, which helps students build their careers and gain real‑world experience. Through that program, I came across a posting from Stride for a Sales Coordinator position and decided to apply. Fortunately, they took a chance on me, and that opportunity opened the door to an entirely new industry. As I settled into the role, I became increasingly interested in the equipment leasing and finance space and realized how much potential there was for growth and learning.

What do you like the most about working at Stride Capital? 

One of the things I value most about working at Stride Capital is the people and the culture. From day one, I’ve felt genuinely welcomed and supported—everyone truly feels like a second family. There is a strong sense of teamwork across the organization, where people are always willing to help, share knowledge, and support one another’s growth. The collaborative and positive work environment makes it easy to stay motivated and engaged. Being part of such a close knit and supportive team makes the work both meaningful and rewarding.

What is your life outside of work like?

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with the people who matter most to me, my family and friends. Whether it’s casual get‑togethers, celebrating milestones, or simply spending quality time together, those relationships are a huge part of my life and help keep me grounded. I also love staying active and prioritizing my well‑being, whether that’s playing pickleball, going to Pilates, or finding new ways to move and challenge myself. When I’m not doing any of those things, I’m usually planning my next adventure. I love traveling and exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and creating new experiences around the world.
