Cleo Capiral recently joined the Stride Capital team as a Documentation Specialist. We took the opportunity to sit down with her and ask her about her previous work experience and education, what she’s excited about in her new role, and what keeps her busy outside of work.

Tell us about your previous work experience and finance education and how it led you to Stride.

I have been in the banking industry for 3 years. I started out as a teller with Servus Credit Union after graduation in 2021, then became a Financial Advisor/Mutual Funds Specialist after 8 months. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Commerce – Finance Major. With a love for finance and a desire to understand the commercial aspect of it, Stride Capital piqued my interest. Hence, I am excited for the opportunity to join an amazing team.

What are you looking forward to about your new role as Documentation Specialist for Stride?

I am looking forward to understanding more of the leasing and financing industry. As a Financial Advisor, I have a solid understanding of personal lending. Working with Stride will enhance what I already understand, and it will broaden my horizon.

What opportunities do you see as part of Stride and within this new role?

It is fantastic to know that I have opportunities to learn from experienced and knowledgeable people. In addition, finding a mentor in this industry is also exciting. Additionally, Servus’ acquisition of Stride will provide Stride more opportunities for business.

Can you tell us a bit about your experience working in a team environment, managing client relationships, and doing financial analysis?

My background is diverse. As a Financial Advisor, I built and maintained relationships with my members. Even during my last week in that position, I had members visit my office to say farewells. I have been trained ardently in underwriting for simple loans, lines of credits, complex mortgage deals, and more. In addition, I was a licensed mutual funds advisor. I have built financial plans for my members and tailored investment recommendations, referring to appropriate experts on my team where necessary. Everything I have learned as a Financial Advisor will assist me in my career growth with Stride.

What is your life like outside of work?

Outside of work, I pursue my creative side. I do cosplays as a hobby, where I dress up as a character and attend conventions. I dabble in photoshoots and work with photographers to capture a story I want to present. In addition, I am a member of a local writing guild where I am working to publish my novel. If the weather is perfect, I read non-fiction books and study investments on the side.
